NSW to develop coal and gas strategy
The NSW Government is inviting feedback on the directions and issues to be addressed in a coal and gas strategy for NSW.
Strategic regional land use plans are to be developed for seven different regions across New South Wales – the Upper Hunter, New England North West, Central West, Southern Highlands, Murrumbidgee, Alpine and Western regions.
The Department of Planning and Infrastructure is currently working with other government agencies, stakeholder groups, local councils and the community on the first two plans for the Upper Hunter and New England North West regions. Public exhibition of the draft Upper Hunter and New England North West plans is expected to take place early in 2012.
Work is set to commence on the Central West and Southern Highlands plans in the first half of 2012, followed by preparation of plans for the Murrumbidgee, Alpine and Western regions.
