Electrical Engineer

 

Our Ridge Street site services many customers in a contract manufacturing capacity focused on packaged, natural and processed cheeses. These include the renown Bega cheese blocks- mild, tasty, and vintage, shredded and cubed cheese, natural slices, parmesan, colby, mozzarella and burger slice cheeses and an exciting new Lactose and Dairy Free range.

This role reports to the maintenance manager, who is responsible for developing and delivering electrical projects. The role involves guiding and advising electrical trades, both internal and contractors, to ensure that projects meet the needs of the Ridge St site.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and systems for emergency repairs and perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
  • Improve workforce productivity by providing technical support to eliminate potential delays and identify and resolve electrical issues.
  • Install, commission, and provide ongoing support for electrical projects, including the electrical design of manufacturing plant and equipment
  • Lead machine safety projects from hazard identification and risk assessment to completion and validation, providing technical guidance as needed.
  • Ensure work is carried out according to Bega Group's commitment to safe engineering practices and high-quality standards.

About you

  • Grade A Electrical License and Cert III in Electrotechnology with a minimum of three years of experience as an electrical trade/electrical engineer
  • Certification as a Machine Safety Expert (TUV NORD) – Obtained or willingness to obtain
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering – Obtained or willingness to obtain
  • Desired knowledge of PLC fault finding and project management experience
  • A solid technical focus, with the ability to learn and apply new concepts and continuously improve
