Electrical Engineer

About the Role:

The Arnott’s, Marleston site is experiencing significant capital investment with the recent introduction of two new production lines. Continued investment is planned over the coming years to expand and automate the existing manufacturing capabilities of the site. 

Reporting to the Capital Manager you will have the opportunity to be part of and contribute to the continued growth of the Arnott’s business through your experience and knowledge in the electrical engineering and automation space in a project environment.

What your day looks like:  

  • Scope up project work and develop functional descriptions and specifications for quotation purposes 
  • Write capex documents for submission & develop justifications for capex submissions 
  • Execute project work, manage internal resources, manage external contractors, and control budgets 
  • Commissioning of equipment 
  • Provide technical support to the operations and the reliability teams 
  • Occasional weekend work may be required during peak season 

The Ingredients for Success:  

  • Qualification in electrical engineering or electrical trade with a minimum of 5 years experience in electrical installations  
  • 3 years experience in automation engineering
  • Sound knowledge of AS3000 and AS4024 
  • A knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller's and Human Machine Interface's with the ability to interrogate Programmable Logic Controller code and interpret electrical schematics for problem solving purposes on machinery 
  • Experience in Computer Aided Design software and the ability to use MS Projects for project management 
  • Experience in the food, beverage or pharmaceutical industry, or other highly automated manufacturing environments would be beneficial
